Loving Choices is a faith-based, pregnancy resource center that offers a variety of services at no cost to teenage girls and adult women who find themselves in unplanned pregnancies. These services include STD testing, pregnancy tests, short-term crisis counseling, long-term peer mentoring, parenting education, infant supplies, community health referrals for prenatal care and referrals for adoption services. For clients seeking healing from past abortions, we also offer weekly post-abortion counseling and Bible studies.
Through the CARE program, our goal is to provide support for women who choose life. Each client who chooses to enroll in our CARE program is assigned a peer-mentor whom they meet with on a weekly basis for support and education throughout their pregnancy.
We utilize an “Earn While You Learn” program in which each client is given an opportunity to earn “Mommy Bucks” by completing various homework assignments. “Mommy Bucks” can then be used to shop for supplies in our CARE boutique. Clients may remain enrolled in the CARE program for up to 9 months following the delivery of their baby, which allows them to receive further support for some of the most crucial months of their newborn’s development.
Approximately 45 clients are being served on a weekly basis in the Fayetteville CARE program, and 40 clients are being served on a weekly basis in the Rogers CARE program. In addition, the Rogers CARE program is able to offer services to Spanish-speaking clients in their native language.
There are many volunteer opportunities at Loving Choices. Peer counselors are needed to counsel and mentor women; they receive training by the Loving Choices staff. Volunteers are also needed in the Mommy Boutique to wash and fold donated items, count diapers and interact with clients and their babies.
